The IHE Integration Statement (IS) claims the correct implementation of the IHE Technical Framework (TF) specifics in a product. In order to permit the information share in most healthcare domains, the IHE TF identifies actors and transaction which are abstractions of the real-world healthcare information systems. A real system can implement several actors at a time and all of them are declared in the Integration Statement.
   
In 2004 Omnilab takes part in the paduan Connect-a-thon and obtains the IHE IS for its laboratory specific product: OpenLIS. This application is a “Laboratory Information System” which implements the ORDER FILLER actor in the LAB TF.
In 2005 Omnilab flies to the Noordwijkerhout (Netherlands) Connect-a-thon with the purpose to obtain the IS for its leading application: LabOnline. The positive conclusion of such an event permitted LabOnline to claim its integration capabilities towards all the LIS applications (Order Filler actors) which support the HL7 standard (as defined in th LAB TF: see IS). LabOnline plays the role of an Automation Manager actor in the IHE LAB TF.
